Title: MouseWare Software Version: 9.­79.­1 build 25 Post Date: 04/­21/­2006 Platform: Windows 98/­ME/­2000/­XP File Size: Approximately 4.­3 Mb Download Instruction This is an automated self-installer of Logitech MouseWare.­ For additional details please refer to the README file included in this release.­ MouseWare uses a CHM-based Help file and Internet Explorer 4.­01 or higher must be installed to view the Help file correctly.­ If you are using a release prior to 4.­01,­ please upgrade your version of Internet Explorer from the Microsoft web site.­ NOTES: If you use a Cordless Desktop keyboard that uses iTouch software and you are upgrading MouseWare,­ it is recommended you also upgrade to the latest version of iTouch.­ NT 4.­0 users:- This version requires NT service pack 6 to be installed.­ The F1 - F12 button assignments have been removed.­ These can now be programmed (as well as many other keys) using the new "Keystroke" button assignment.­ MouseWare does NOT currently support Windows Server 2003.­ Your Logitech pointing device will function with its native drivers.­ Serial Mice users under Windows XP and 2000: MouseWare does not support any serial pointing devices.­ A Logitech mouse connected to the serial port will function with native drivers,­ but it will not be displayed in the MouseWare control center and you will not be able to program the buttons.­ C-Series device users: C-Series mice are not supported under Windows XP,­ Windows 2000 or Windows ME when connected to the serial port.­ C-Series devices can be identified by the following model numbers (M/­N),­ located on the bottom of the device: T-CA1,­ C7,­ CA,­ CC,­ and CE.­ Please note the CA and the CE are combination devices and will function on the PS/­2 port.­ SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS 2000 Important Installation Note: If you are upgrading your Logitech pointing device hardware it is stongly recommended that you first install this latest version of MouseWare and restart your system.­ Then shut the system down,­ and connect your new Logitech pointing device hardware and restart the system.­ Service Pack 2 users: For users planning to upgrade to Windows 2000 Service Pack 2: It is urgently recommended that all users planning to upgrade to Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 should upgrade to the latest MouseWare immediately.­ Earlier versions of MouseWare prior to v9.­29.­2 may have issues with Service Pack 2.­ MouseWare Prior to 9.­x: Do NOT install MouseWare 8.­x or earlier into Windows 2000.­ If you have previously installed MouseWare 8.­x or earlier into Windows 2000,­ it is recommended you download this latest version and install it over your current version.­ For users planning to upgrade to Windows 2000 from a previous version of Windows: ANY version of MouseWare installed on your current operating system must be uninstalled BEFORE upgrading to Windows 2000.­ After you have successfully upgraded to Windows 2000,­ then install the latest version of MouseWare.­ SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR WINDOWS XP Logitech serial pointing devices in Windows XP: Pointing devices connected to the serial port are no longer supported by Logitech MouseWare in Windows XP.­ If your device is a combination PS/­2 and Serial mouse,­ we recommend using the PS/­2 connection.­ If your device is serial only,­ you must use the operating system's native drivers.­
